WMG announces event to explore the impact of Brexit on Supply Chains

Global Supply Chain Debate: Global Supply Chains in a Post-Brexit Era, on Tuesday 8 May 2018, at the University of Warwick.

This event aims to provide an opportunity for organisations to systematically consider the implications of Brexit to their supply chains.

It will also help businesses:

·  Reflect on a unique range of expert perspectives on the implications of Brexit to different aspects of the supply chain

·  Consider in more detail the supply chain implications of alternative Brexit scenarios, in a workshop by Pinsent Masons

·  Identify critical supply chain issues and question an expert panel as to how these issues may be addressed

·  Create a network and community of professionals with an interest in protecting their business against the alternative futures Brexit may present

This event is a must for any business wanting to ensure they are prepared to harness the opportunities, and limit the risks that Brexit may pose to their supply chain.

Agenda

Starting at 9:30am, morning sessions will include:

  • Brexit: Opportunities and Challenges for UK Industrial Strategy
  • Brexit: Implications for Global Supply Chains
  • Perspectives on Brexit: Supply Chain Orchestration and Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Support Chain

After lunch, afternoon sessions will include:

  • Legal implications of Brexit
  • Brexit Scenarios: Implications for Global Supply Chains
    Global Supply Chain Debate
  • Succeeding in the Post-Brexit Era
  • Networking and drinks

Confirmed speakers and panel members include:

-  Tim Sherwell from AstraZeneca, Regional Supply Director for Europe, and key member of the AZ Brexit team

-  David Leighton from Associated British Ports, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, and a leading player in discussions with government in the UK and Brussels about the UK’s role as a Maritime Nation and the impact of Brexit

Following the networking drinks, there will be a three-course dinner, with a talk by David Rea, Chief Economist, JLR
