New workshop dates announced for West Midlands' small businessesUncategorized
WMG, University of Warwick has announced a number of workshop dates for February and March to help small businesses in the West Midlands get access to the technologies, capabilities and tools that can help them grow. The workshops are free of charge for small and medium sized businesses in the West Midlands and cover the following:
Introduction to Cloud Computing (27th Feb) - Focussed on cloud solutions and how specific business needs can be met. Useful tools presented to support document sharing/management, data collection/visualisation and business process automation.
People Centred Innovation (5th March) – Putting your customers at the centre of innovation. A workshop designed to help you understand how you can influence customer behaviour and emotional response to your products and services.
Introduction to Social Media for Business Use (8th March) - Designed for businesses that are still unsure of the benefits of using social media and are not aware of the tools and applications available to them. It will offer an overview of tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Foursquare
Innovative Manufacturing Technologies (12th March) – Offering an insight into the latest technology in rapid manufacture. The workshop covers both advanced capabilities such as the in-mould processing of printed electronics as well as useful capabilities such as laser scanning and prototyping.
Twitter for Business Use (14th March half day am) - This practical session will help you get Twitter running within your business. It will cover how to get the right people to follow you, how to integrate with other social media, as well as managing twitter on your iPhone.
Social Media Strategy (14th March half day pm) - This practical session will handhold you through a process of developing a strategy to manage social media activities for your business. It will cover things like defining objectives for ‘how and why’ one should use social media and deciding which channels to use.
Linked-In Business Guide (19th March half day am) - This practical session will help you use LinkedIn effectively for your business. It will cover things like how to maximise company profile and how to embed videos.
Facebook for Business Use (19th March half day pm) - This practical session will handhold you through a step by step process to set up and manage a Facebook page for your business. It will cover things like creating and administrating a Facebook page for your organisation and demos of Facebook apps.
